A note from the founder.
To explain what RYE PUBLIC RELATIONS is, you first need to understand the meaning behind the name. The word rye may conjure up different reactions from different people, to some, it may mean nothing and to others it may just make them think of bread — to me, it is a mixture of things, but most of all it is personal.
I grew up in a small town of about 900 people, called Pinnaroo, on the South Australian / Victorian border. The area is known as The Mallee and it gains most of it income from agriculture. Rye grain is not only a fixture, but a grain my father grows, also.
When I think of home I think of dry dirt, vast plain of land and grain — rye being one of those main grains. When I created RYE PUBLIC RELATIONS I wanted a name that reflects who I am as a person and where I come from all wrapped into one. I was so lucky to grown up in the place I did and I wanted to carry a piece of that with me as I moved forward in my career as an adult; therefore, RYE PUBLIC RELATIONS was born.
While I have not lived in my home town in a long time, where you grow up shapes you and I will always be grateful for that. Since leaving my home town, I have attended boarding school and went on to attend college in the Los Angeles. Through every experience I have been able to learn more about myself and my direction in life. All of that experience has lead me to now. I have established RYE PUBLIC RELATIONS as a product of every step I have taken. I want it to be an agency that blends my Australian upbringing and values with my education and experience in the United States. I strive to create an agency that bridges the gap between Australian brands and talent with the United States — a place that is a bit of both places, just like me.
Best,
Lauren
